Faced with a staring contest with a couple of State premiers who have sniffed a political opportunity (that's the only reason they're now opposing parts of the new anti-Liberty Act that Federal Government is now introducing), Howard has resorted to B.Liar/BushCo tactics... declare a fake 'terror threat' and tell the media that only his new shiny anti-Liberty Bill will save us all.
Of course it doesn't help that the Labour Party is led by the Heavyweight Lightweight - a man so devoid of principle that the term 'Leader of the Opposition' has been all but rescinded.
Do you see now why I would prefer to have all politicians retroactively aborted? Anyone who is invoplved in the passage of this legislation should be specifically targetted for overthrow at the next election.
I intend to specifically organise for this. It will be my third political act: I voted once (in 1992 for Jeff Kennett), and I was part of a student movement to prevent the Syme School of Business (a glorified TAFE) from being absorbed into Monash (on the basis that standards would decline... and they did).
This could get traction - right through to the stacking of branches (of either party) to fuck up the pre-selection of any incumbents who vote for this abomination.
In case you're wondering why there is such a need for repressive legislation, think "mortgage belt", "EquityMate" and "Oh fuck, the economy is absolutely falling the fuck apart". Nothing to do with terrorism whatsoever.
