Yowza...

Note - from June 24th 2009, this blog has migrated from Blogger to a self-hosted version. Click here to go straight there.

Well, I tried using the new PHP version of the thingo that generates the RantTables, and boy, was that ever a big mistake.

That's not the reason that there was no USRant or OZRant lo these past two sessions - it is simply the fact that I was in a locaiton that had no operational internet connection.

Normal Ranting will resume Monday, same RantTime, same RantChannel.

As to the fact that the Dow staged a massive rally and finished above the UNCH line for Thursday, all I can say is "I told you so". Sadly, although I made it absolutely clear to USSPy subscribers that the market would finish in the green, I also advocated moving stops to breakeven once we had pocketed a quick bounce (this was early in the session - prior to the BIG decline that took the Dow down over 150 points).

Although it would have been nice to re-enter long later in the session, I had already headed off to Paris, and thus all subscribers got was that first 10-minute ride that netted the first two targets (as usual)... for once the big traders wound up with the same gain as the little guys... despite knowing full well that the market was going to finish with a ball-jarring rally. Still, it's pointless being right if you then go an enter at a point PRIOR to the biggest chunk of the decline... that sort of thing can wipe one out even though the eventual directional call is proved right... far smarter to take the small gain and live to fight another day.
