OzRant Intraday: SPI Bounced, BUT...

Note - from June 24th 2009, this blog has migrated from Blogger to a self-hosted version. Click here to go straight there.

Isn't there always a "but"?

The SPI set its session low thus far at the open (9:55) and has rallied 25-dd points. Meanwhile the cash index set its low just before 11:30 and re-tested it just after 11:30. Was't hard to spot (see below)...

Anyone who jumped on the "bounce bus" at 11 a.m., has had an opportunity to trouser at least 6 SPI points in the interim... that's $150 on a margin of $2750... you don't sneeze at that when it's just lying there (although it's only enough for a decent meal out with the Lovely).

That said, the intraday action is looking surprisingly tepid. If it was me, I would pocket the meal money and look away (and not kick myself if the thing continues to strengthen... it just looks sick to me).
